She is specifically designed after the classic appearance of Shiori Fujisaki and was included in the game as part of a DLC containing other Konami mascot characters, such as Goemon Bomber (based on Goemon) from the Ganbare Goemon series, and Vic Viper Bomber (based on Vic Viper) from the Gradius series.
